Set on 20 acres in the foothills, this modern home was built for energy efficiency, with double walls, extensive insulation and tight construction. An unusual technology provides fresh air through heat recovery ventilators in the wall vents. A 5.4kW ground-mounted  solar electric system provides most of the power while an air-to-water heat pump provides radiant floor heating. A hybrid heat pump water heater provides domestic hot water and laundry is done in a combination condensing washer/dryer.
